Having given life to Afro Synth blog, he’s seen it evolve rapidly as an online store, a label and finally a real-life record store in Johannesburg, as he reaches to revive bubblegum’s and kwaito’s hype. Founded in 2016, the « Ballà Boum Festival », held in the heart of Patrimoniu (a small wine makers village in between Bastia and Saint-Florent) brings together a team of passionate music lovers for a week-end-long adventure. Creating a universe resembling a huge end-of-summer ball, the event curates a modern selection, combining confirmed international artists and their small projects and putting forward a philosophy inviting to exchange « balli » (dancing) and « amore » (love).
For their trip to Bordeaux they’ve packed artists representing their region, Corsica, but also contrasting musical tastes : Disco, House, Synth- pop…. no barriers but a motto : “what’s important is not to be a good dancer, but to be persuasive about dancing well !”

Berlin-based Japanese DJ Kez YM first appeared on the 4Lux label with his “Doucement Confused EP”, casting the first stone for an impressive and ever-growing discography, a castle built over years and years. Having already blessed Bordeaux with an explosive DJ set at the Bootleg club, he’s back to shine his light on our nippon event.
His talented mix of soul and Detroit beats has been recognized by Moodymann, Larry Heard, Osunlade, to name a few. In the eyes of Pablo Valentino, Kez YM is one of the best, so much so that he’s signed the DJ onto his label Faces Records for the artists lasted album.
